An Afternoon of Easter Fun with POAC

The Point Pleasant Elks invited the P.O.A.C Families to "An Afternoon of Easter Fun". Michele Ford Photo went along to capture some of the memories of this great event!

Children and families decorated Easter Eggs. The tables were lined with balloons and decorations while the Easter Bunny and a Clown kept in charge of the fun!

Lunch was served! The Elks made delicious hot dogs and french fries for all!

Next it was outdoors for the Easter Egg Hunt! The children were all so excited and couldn't wait to get those egg!

It was great fun to watch as they ran about collecting the hidden goodies!

It was a great day for everyone, thanks to the Point Pleasant Elks and POAC!

A Stroll on the Beach of New Jersey

Sometimes it's nice to take time off from everything else and go for a stroll along the beach.

This day was cold and windy... The snow fences stood firmly in place along the boardwalk, just waiting... The plants had lost their summertime life and were shivering in the wind.

Fragmented shells and rocks scattered themselves about on the shores, left behind by the tides that so quickly change. Every now and then a beautiful piece of sea-glass; a brilliant green sparkled like an emerald in the sand.

The seagulls were resting on the beach, most unwilling to be pulled in every which direction by the wind's relentless fury. Until I passed by...

I watched in amazement as they took off in their order, one by one or two by two, flying above into the air over the chilly sea.

So if you can't make it down to the beach today, why not take a walk through my shop on Etsy and bring home one or two beautiful high-quality fine art prints instead. All photographs are professionally printed and ship within one business day. Have your frame ready :)

Beautiful Colors!

I took some time off from working at the computer yesterday and I went for a nice walk in the woods with my camera! This is one of my favorite photos out of the bunch and I'll soon be posting more...

The Cranberry Festival

New Jersey is known for it's cranberry bogs and cranberry products... Each year in the Fall in the little old town of Bordentown, New Jersey, they hold a Cranberry Festival with lots of handmade items and goodies to eat and drink. This year, we went along with our dear friend Becca of Happiknits. I'm working on editing a few more photos of the Happiknits booth to put here. Becca has some amazing items for sale on her Etsy website! You can find warm chunky cowls, whimsy capelets, hats, and more by visiting Becca's shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Happiknits

View From A Kayak

Sunday, September 19th, 2010:

It was a beautiful late summer day in New Jersey!
We took the kayaks out in the lake.
It was my first time kayaking and I actually loved it! I can't wait to go again...
Beautiful scenery, the trees are just starting to meet Autumn.
The leaves were beginning to change color and some were starting to fall.
Kayaking is quite a good workout, for mind, body and camera!
I stored my camera in a plastic water proof box while I wasn't taking pictures so it didn't get wet.
Good thing too, because every now and then I got going so fast the water started splashing!
It was a great day :)

Earl At the Shore

It's Labor Day weekend at the New Jersey Shore and along comes Earl! The good news is he's supposed to be out of here in time to still have a sunny weekend!

The National Weather Service issued a Tropical Storm Warning this afternoon. The hurricane is supposed to make it to this area of New Jersey by noontime Friday. It's expected to be sunny and clear by Saturday!

The sunset was beautiful tonight! The rough surf and the colorful sky really made my day!

"It is better to meet danger than to wait for it. He that is on a lee shore, and foresees a hurricane, stands out to sea and encounters a storm to avoid a shipwreck." Charles Caleb Colton
